Dr Serena Galasso is a medieval historian specialised in social, economic and gender history. Trained in Italy and France, she studied women’s practical writings in late medieval Tuscany, focusing on Florentine women’s account books. Her PhD thesis (Prix de la Chancellerie de Paris) has been published with the title Le droit de compter. Les livres de gestion et de mémoires des femmes (Florence, XV-XVI siècles) (École française de Rome, 2024). She has co-edited special issues of Cahiers d’études italiennes and Genesis, and published articles in Mélanges de l’École française de RomeGenesisQuaderni Storici, and in several collective volumes. Her current research focuses on circulation and agency of everyday objects in late medieval Italy with a Marie Curie project (ThiMa, MSCA 2025-27). She is currently an external member of the Art and Inequality research team.
